All is swell…

Nothing new to report on the coup… the military is still out and about guarding places here and there.  Can't complain that this is the most peaceful coup I've been in, or the only one for that matter… hmm… being in Kosovo or Macedonia had a little more excitment than this. But I can't complain – no blood and gore is a GOOD thing.

We are soldiersThe photo on the right is from the Hualomphong train station in Bangkok.  These dudes were just hanging out at the station watching people walk by.  There's a lot of military out there right now just hanging out, but not much action going on in the city.  There are still tanks by the Government House, but the atmosphere is pretty friendly.  I passed by there last week and, i swear, there must have been over a thousand people snapping photos of the soldiers and tanks.  They've now put up some barriers… maybe the military's scared of the people being too friendly to the soldiers.  The miliutary is still cracking down on political gatherings.

Chillin'It's the rainy season and the mosquitos (or mozzies for you ozzies out there) are around.  I've swatting at them all day today.  It doesn't really help with paying attention to work.  And doing laundry is a pain in the A$$… not that doing is a problem, but that it never dries when its always raining and always humid.

Oh, congrats to my friends Chris and Cindy who are going to be having a baby early next year!  Geez… we're all getting older.  Still feel like I'm in my early 20's… I wonder if that's a good or bad thing?

Caught this dog chillin' out at Victory Monument last week while heading into town.  It took me about 2 hours that day to get from my house to the United Nations Building.  At least it wasn't "that" hot ;o)
