The beginning of the end (or of the beginning)

Vincent Simpson
(Who says I can't look like a Simpson's character…If you haven't tried, you can Simpsonize yourself before the Simpson Movie comes out!)

School finally started this past week and it'll be a crazy ride for the next few months… but so far I think I've found a rhythm which will keep me sane and help me through till November. Not much to report except that I got a little sick again from eating. I wonder why I always get sick eating in restaurants but never on the street?  Anyway, I've spent the weekend recovering… I think I need to cut pork out of my diet… it's the same thing everytime!

Triple O's in BKK
(There's a White Spot in Bangkok!  Haven't had a chance to taste good ol' classic Canadian food, but will have to soon…update to come!)

The Bangkok International Festival started up this weekend and there are bunch of movies on that puts a little culture and class into the otherwise boring action/horror movies that clog the cinemas most of the time. Last night, we watched Goodbye Bafana, an interesting film about the prison guard who looked after Nelson Mandela during his time in prison in South Africa. Even though I didn't have a clue about what it was about, it was a nice surprise. Films usually turn out to be interesting, even entertaining, when you don't have too many expectations before watching them.

Nobu and Mu before Pakistan
(Caught up with my Japanese friend Nobu only for one night in Bangkok. Nobu was on his way to Pakistan for work… for 3 years! Good luck Nobu and stay safe…)

The next movie up tonight is Who Killed the Electric Car… about the demise of the electric car back in early 2000… controversy or fad? If you haven't heard enough about climate change or Al Gore or Live Earth Concerts, maybe this will feed your curiosity as well.

Thai Mr. Clean?
(I guess this is Thailand's version of Mister Clean… thought it looked a lot like my brother)

  1. Wow, White Spot in Bangkok, unbelievable. I don’t think you can find one outside of BC in Canada.
