On the morning of 22 December, I was happy to find that Muriel and I didn&#8217;t wake up to a world where the sky was falling or the earth opening up to swallow all of human life. But, like probably a lot of people, it made me think of how lucky we were to have had an exciting and interesting 2012. Maya &quot;Doomsday&quot; Calendar Explained\" href=\"http:\/\/news.nationalgeographic.com\/news\/2011\/12\/111220-end-of-world-2012-maya-calendar-explained-ancient-science\/\">National Geographic<\/a>.
