{"id":222,"date":"2007-07-13T22:34:19","date_gmt":"2007-07-13T15:34:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.vincentfung.ca\/wordpress\/archives\/222"},"modified":"2011-03-24T08:07:53","modified_gmt":"2011-03-24T08:07:53","slug":"bumming-on-the-beach","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vincentfung.ca\/blog\/archives\/222","title":{"rendered":"Bumming on the&nbsp;beach"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\"http:\/\/vincentfung.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/07\/img_3110.jpg\" border=\"5\" alt=\"Architecture and happiness... hmmm...\" title=\"Architecture and happiness... hmmm...\" \/><br \/>(Reading in the pool is not a good idea, but luckily I was only posing with my book)<\/p>\n<p>I finally am able to sit down to share my last weekend in photos.&nbsp; We made a decision to get out of Bangkok for the weekend and it was definitely worth it. Leaving at 7am, we arrived in Hua Hin, a beach town\/resort area for Thais and tourists, at about 11am &#8211; just in time for lunch! After a long walk on the beach and getting sun burnt, we made our way to an out-of-the-way spot in Pranburi, where it was hardly developed with nice boutiques resorts and a long stretch of empty beach.<\/p>\n<p><img src=\"http:\/\/vincentfung.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/07\/img_2972.jpg\" border=\"5\" alt=\"traveling in a pickup truck\/taxi\" title=\"traveling in a pickup truck\/taxi\" \/><br \/>(Catching a taxi to the resort&#8230; it&#39;s funny how we arrived in a pickup truck at this swish resort area, but everyone else was driving Mercedes, Landrovers, and other nice cars)<\/p>\n<p><img src=\"http:\/\/vincentfung.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/07\/img_3014.jpg\" border=\"5\" alt=\"Muriel looking happy on the beach\" title=\"Muriel looking happy on the beach\" \/> <br \/>(Getting out to the beach was a highlight for both of us, but Muriel definitely enjoyed it since she&#39;s from the Mediterranean)<\/p>\n<p><img src=\"http:\/\/vincentfung.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/07\/img_3071.jpg\" border=\"5\" alt=\"Forestaresort in Pranburi\" title=\"Forestaresort in Pranburi\" \/><br \/>(Nice pool in the middle of an open-concept resort&#8230; we even got a poolside room, which we thought was connected to the pool- instead everyone who checked-in could look into our room!)<\/p>\n<p><img src=\"http:\/\/vincentfung.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/07\/img_3078.jpg\" border=\"5\" alt=\"Poolside view\" title=\"Poolside view\" \/><br \/>(There&#39;s our room in the background!
