The North Shore mountains are in the background with Lions Peak covered in snow)

2 weeks went by so fast, I almost missed it. Everything went according to plan: spent one week working on my paper (I hope I pass), then spent about 4 days in a row with family, and spent this past week running around trying to meet people and get a bunch of things done before heading back to BKK. It almost didn't feel like a holiday with all the plans. AND now as I write this blog post, IT'S HAILING!!!

(My friend Chris with his smiley and happy 3-month old baby boy, Joshua, having sushi for lunch.)

Muriel was right in her comment to my last post, I've definitely been lucky in the past 6 months to be able to travel, even with work and school. But, it's been at the sake of my sanity. Running around has totally sapped my energy and focus. But that'll all change when I get back to BKK, because the plan is to stay put till the end of the year so I can concentrate on school and to get back into my 'rhythm'.

(In between meeting friends in downtown Vancouver, I came across an Aboriginal Arts and Craft Festival. Very cool and very BC!)

Of course, I can't be certain what will happen by the end of the year… i've talked to my family and found that some people might come through Thailand. But all in all, it'll be nice to get back to my life in BKK and, most importantly, EXERCISE! Feeling like a slob, chowing down on junk food, and not moving unless you have to is not what I want from my daily life. There's a pretty posh military gym nearby… so I'm looking forward to swims and runs every couple of days. Now that i have a month off before university starts again, I'm going to take it easy and might even go on some weekend trips in Thailand since I haven't had time since late last year.

(Just in case you didn't know, Vancouver was selected for the next Winter Olympics in 2010… 966 days to go… I wonder if the city will get struck by the Olympic 'curse'?
