Life sure can get complicated and interesting at the same time. After having a non-stop event-filled life since early January, the next 4 months are already planned out.\u00a0 If I can organize myself and find some sort of routine to do everything I want to do, I might be able to head to France with Muriel for a week and even head back to Canada for a couple of weeks. So for all you people back in Vancouver, that’s a heads up for you! Want to know what I’ve been up to this past weekend, even with my busy life of work, work (some more work), school, and salsa, keep reading…<\/p>\n

Wow, was it hot on this day!\u00a0 Luckily we got our trusty fans when we paid for our tickets. I wonder why our Thai friends didn’t get them? hmm… are Thai people supposed to be use to this heat?<\/p>\n

Spending the last month or so in salsa lessons every Sat and Sun has been great.\u00a0 Everyone in the workshop is pretty relaxed and easygoing, probably because we all know that putting one foot in front of the other is actually a really hard thing to do, so no egos here.\u00a0 The workshop will run for two more weeks and then my weekends will be free to chill, and most importantly get my head into University readings and coursework.<\/p>\n

I haven’t been neglecting it as much, but by spreading my time out with two different jobs and school, I’ve been having a hard time keeping up with the readings\/assignments…\u00a0 I feel like I never have enough time to sit down and finish it off… it would be nice if I could get my assignments done in one day.<\/p>\n

Even though I’ve been busy, I’m still trying to keep my social life alive… or at least on life support.\u00a0 Muriel and I met up with a friend I haven’t seen in about 6 months and we all went to the Suan Pakkard Palace in Bangkok… A nice retreat from the polluton and noise, but still damn hot.\u00a0 I think museums are good places to cool down especially during the hot season.<\/p>\n

We ended up catching the World Musiq and World BBQ fest… these festivals are more like events for people to eat cuz music seemed to be low on the priority list. Even between sets the hosts were interviewing food vendors about what they were selling and also what people were eating. Aside from the incomprehensible blaring music, and heat and humidity, the lack of comfortable seating, food every where you turned, this would have been your average festival.\u00a0 Someone PLEASE teach Thai sound engineers how to use an equalizer, cuz at this point, I’m thinking all Thai sound engineers are deaf (probably cuz they’ve been hearing too much of their own musiq)<\/p>\n
