It&#8217;s been a while since I&#8217;ve really experienced a fall, and the up-coming winter for that matter. The hardest part of it all is trying to get accustomed to the cold weather &#8211; in the past five years the closest I&#8217;ve come to living in a cold climate was three weeks in Canada last March. But overall, the season is amazing especially in a place like Geneva. This quiet yet unique Swiss city sits in valley, along a lake and surrounded by mountains &#8211; some of which are starting get dusted with snow.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1158\" title=\"P1030288\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vincentfung.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/P1030288.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"334\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.vincentfung.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/P1030288.jpg 500w, https:\/\/www.vincentfung.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/P1030288-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I live close to the <a title=\"Parc des Bastions\" href=\"http:\/\/www.geneve-tourisme.ch\/?rubrique=0000000181\" target=\"_blank\">Parc des Bastions<\/a>, Geneva&#8217;s first botanical park, and it was busy with people a couple of weekends ago playing over-sized chess and checkers.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1160\" title=\"P1030335\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vincentfung.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/P1030335.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"334\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.vincentfung.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/P1030335.jpg 500w, https:\/\/www.vincentfung.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/P1030335-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In wine country &#8211; <a title=\"Lavaux\" href=\"http:\/\/whc.unesco.org\/en\/list\/1243\" target=\"_blank\">Lavaux<\/a>, roughly an hour north of Geneva past Lausanne, is a UNESCO world heritage site with amazing views from its vineyard terraces.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1162\" title=\"P1030392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vincentfung.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/P1030392.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"334\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.vincentfung.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/P1030392.jpg 500w, https:\/\/www.vincentfung.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/P1030392-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>An amazing sunset after an unusually warm day from behind the <a title=\"Jet d'Eau\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Jet_d%27Eau\" target=\"_blank\">Jet d&#8217;Eau<\/a>, one of Geneva&#8217;s most famous landmarks.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Fall (aka autumn) is a beautiful time of the year&#8230; colors are changing, temperatures are dipping, and the air smells different.
