The past week has been an interested one.   The only downer to this week was finding out that I might fail one of my courses.  The professor has given me a second chance to try to pass the course, but I'm still dumbstruck by the email he sent me saying that I might fail.  <\/p>\n

Basically the email said that one of the assignments I handed-in needed to be resubmitted. I was totally blown away.  First, I really enjoyed the course because I was learning a lot from it.  Second, I thought the assignment was quite well-researched and put together.  Finally, I didn't get any indication that I was doing poorly in the class – on the contrary, I was recieving positive feedback on all my assignments, posting questions and answers online, and overall was doing relatively well with the other students. So I called the professor on Friday. I asked him why and all he could say was that he was giving me another chance.  He said that he would send me his comments in the mail and we could discuss it after. Not the most supportive of professors since he never told me I was off-track or was concerned that I wasn't understanding any of the course material.  It was hard to take and made my weekend a little stressful as to how or why I might fail the course.  Being the worry-wart I am, I went back online to check the other students assignments.  Comparing with them, my assignment was ontrack and even better presented than some of the students.  I'm still super shocked and probably should write about something else before I get angry about it again. <\/p>\n

Other than my course, work has been slowing down quite a bit with the holidays coming up, so it has given me some time to think and work on different projects and even get out to take some photos.<\/p>\n

I'm in the middle of a supposedly long weekend to celebrate the King of Thailand's birthday (December 5).  Most people have taken today (Monday) off as a holiday, while I and a limited number of staff in most companies and organizations have decided to come to the office.  Its a strange way to think, but many people in Bangkok think that long weekends are a good time NOT to go anywhere.  The reason being that most people leave Bangkok to travel around Thailand or other destinations – meaning that Bangkok is "virtually" deserted… no traffic jams, no pollution, maybe even not as hot, and just a relaxing time to enjoy the city.<\/p>\n
